Change a Life: 2010 Bike/Hike
Thank you to all our participants and sponsors for an extraordinary Bike/Hike that raised over $145,000. The weather was a beautiful sunny and warm, and almost 150 people participated through biking, hiking, volunteering and entertaining. The bikers rode for 14 miles through the Palisades Interstate Park and hikers walked along the Hudson River for 3 miles. All returned to the Ross Dock Pavilion and enjoyed performances by the Columbia University Chinese Students Clubs with the Chinese Lion Dance and juggling with Chinese Yo-Yo's. Children enjoyed the many activities under the tent including arts & crafts and Chinese calligraphy. Our DJ kept the tempo up with spirited music, games and dances. And thanks to the Tenafly Girl Scouts for helping serve up the party food.
All funds raised help pay for hospital costs for the orphans we treat, as well as some transportation and lodging for the team. All of our team members are donating their time, and many pay their own transportation costs. With the generosity of our participants and sponsors, these forgotten children will receive surgical and medical care they deserve but could never afford.
