  Medical Programs

Gift Surgeries:
We bring children to hospitals in the United States to correct conditions that require extremely complex medical procedures.

Sponsored Surgeries:
We provide funds to local Chinese hospitals for surgical procedures for children from orphanages throughout China. Read about our donations to an orphanage in Sichuan province that helped support open-heart surgeries surgeries. "Open-Hearts in Chengdu"

Medical Equipment:
We underwrite the cost of much needed medical equipment in Chinese orphanage hospitals that would otherwise not be available. For example, we have provided anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.

Medical Education:
During each medical mission in China, our team of US physicians provides Chinese doctors and nurses with information and demonstrations of the latest surgical techniques and medical care. During the day, Chinese doctors participate in surgeries and make rounds to learn about recovery and after-care techniques. In the evenings lectures are provided.

Visiting Scholar Program:
CCPFs Visiting Scholar Program provides scholarships for Chinese surgeons from orphanage hospitals to come to the United States to study and learn new techniques.

CCPF provides an opportunity for surgeons from Chinese hospitals where our missions occur to observe pediatric care in the Operating Suites, Outpatient Clinics and Hospital Management at a US hospital. Surgeons who are selected by their Chinese hospital each agree to perform surgeries on orphans upon their return to China.

The Fellowship lasts between 2-4 weeks and typically includes meetings with hospital administration, inclusion in hospital grand rounds for a variety of specialties, and shadowing surgeons from different departments to observe operating suites, inpatient units and outpatient clinics.

2007: Dr. Xin Shi, Vice Director of General Surgery at the Zhongda Hospital in Nanjing China, came for a three-week visit.
